The demo was a bit too short.
But the combat is quite okay, actually.
I expected some Fantasy Life slow shit but this is a nice surprise.

My concern is just that it might stay too linear. Some dude comes to your Oasis, you go grind for the shit he wants, and go back, rinse and repeat.
I hope some unexpected stuff happens.

I was a little doubtful about Grezzo handling their own game, but it looks like they put a lot of effort into it.

The overworld reminds me a lot of Monster Hunter, I just hope the combat gets more variety.

I liked how the currency to buy and sell and grow crops is water.
The desert feels vast and is a little tiresome to explore.
The combat was better than I expected. Fighting those burrowing cobras and table crabs felt rewarding when I finally beat them, but it was just because I didn't have a good matchup. As for leveling up only when you get back to the oasis, it's different but not really that big of a deal for me. It's nice to have a reason to go back to the oasis instead of exterminate every last monster.
I hope that the game doesn't hand hold puzzles later on because that was a let down.
I am excited to see how the top portion of the oasis will be used.

Because Nintendo is stupid? They limit everything for no goddamn reason.
Switch screenshots have a limit as well, no matter how big of an SD card you put into the console.
Mario Kart has a limit on how many videos you can save, not even giving you enough to at least have one per map. SD card size doesn't matter again.

It doesn't. That's only during the tutorial where they introduce the existence of different skills. I don't like the tutorial either as it felt insulting but the game opens up after that. It never gets to Water Temple levels of brainwork by any stretch of the imagination but it certainly becomes more interesting, with having to layer different kinds of abilities and conceive new combinations. The dungeon in the demo doesn't reflect the rest of the game at all in this regard.

Nintendo makes these weird "curated experiences", it's really frustrating.
In Mario Kart, it doesn't matter if you're online or offline, there's always an invisible time limit for a race. If you're looking for glitches or speedrun routes, the race will just randomly end even if you didn't cross the finish line. It's like they're afraid of you ever experiencing something that isn't perfect.

Too short of a demo. I was expecting a 30-45 minute demo, and I beat it in less than 15.

I like the soundtrack though. the game feels super comfy

fun but shallow. missed opportunity for multiplayer. combat is not deep, doesn't seem too challenging. decent graphics, but I'm not fond of the artstyle. Not a fan of chibi. the missions seem pretty shallow too. more "kill x, collect y" kinda stuff.
