Who knows, we might. It was confirmed that there are seven super meter gauges, compared to the 5 that standard 2v2 and 3v3 games have. Maybe if you build all 7 bars, you might be able to use fusion or something. 15+ is likely because its a 3v3 game. And we've seen the character select screen and there is room for 24 slots. Every character seems to have very samey movesets like Extreme Budoten so it's probably not as much work for them to make a bunch of characters.

Also, I'd say expect many off the wall choices that make fun characters. They also said they're doing DB and Super (dunno about GT). So something like Bulma using guns and shit, or Babidi as a Zoner (like in Hyper) are much more likely than the likes of 16, and Ginyu.

I also doubt we'll get Zamasu AND Black Goku, in fact, I'm very skeptical about Black Goku making it in at all. Whis is way more likely, as he has many unique abilities, and would be a very fun character all around.

ASW is gonna be looking at this from the angle of, "what would make a fun character" first, instead of any fanservice. They wanna make this a competitively viable fighting game first. Thus, expect a lot of off-the-wall choices over fan wishes.

I think Bulma has a chance as a shock pick, working similar to Faust & Kokonoe but with a total reliance on projectiles due to a weak combo game and low heath. Don't know how that makes Ginyu & 16 less likely though.

Ginyu is one of the more striking minor antagonists in the series. I'd say he, Nappa, Dabura, & 16 are in a class of characters that are plausible due to what they could bring to the table. 16 in particular would be great as a heavy character with good reach and super armor as well as a command grab; basically Sentinel from Marvel but not as large.

Ya'll niggas have been arguing across the whole thread. The Beerus and Gold Freeza movies were intended to be canon to the story but were decanonized by Super. Which is also canon until otherwise stated no matter how much you whine.

It's really unfortunate that BoG had so much goodwill going for it and it's been downhill since RoF. Toriyama actually wanted to revisit the story and give it new life with BoG. He was so determined to discard transformations that he basically threw SSG aside in the same movie it was introduced, with Goku being able to maintain god level with normal Super Saiyan. Then somebody saw big squintbucks, and Toriyama has never had much willpower, so he easily forgot all that shit and had another transformation introduced in the next movie. The powerups don't mean shit at the current level.
