The game isn't out yet, and there's been leaked gameplay which heavily focused on the new elements that MHW is introducing.

Some concerns I've heard are about damage numbers, faster healing, increased focus on aerial combat and some 'super moves' (which some people weren't a fan of in MHGen and MHXX).

I don't think you should hate on the game because of a few new mechanics, but at the same time I think you should be critical and don't just blindly accept the things that you don't like.

basically it's departing from the old formula that the original fans enjoyed, and they are worried it's gonna do to the series what RE4 did to traditional RE, especially with the notion that this will be a mainline game.

They haven't showed much of it but it looks significantly different than what fans are used to; could be good, could be bad, but it was a mistake not giving potential players some footage to show that it's the same MH we all know and love.

Personally, I'm pissed that we're not getting the "finished" version of Generations even though I wasn't a huge fan of most of the additions in that entry. I feel like they owe it to their fans to localize XX even if it conflicts with their marketing bullshit for World, since it's essentially the completed version of a game we already got (in which one of the major complaints was a lack of G-rank). I mean, how many instances are there of games being localized and then the expansions or DLC not following suit?

Anyways, I own a PS4 and not a Switch so I'm glad I don't have to spend $300 just to play MH, but I'm definitely concerned about World being a major departure to focus on a broader appeal, or being a piece of shit like Tri with only ~15 """original""" monsters and no content

The change in platform has riled up all of the false-flagging console war shitposters, since MH is something that Nintendo has had against Sony for a while.

There have been some changes to the game that are a little off putting for veterans of the series like damage numbers (which from what I heard can be turned off), No zone transitions and being able to move while using potions. There's also some little things like the absence of the cooking music or the flex your character does after you use an item.

Personally i'm a little cautious about MH Worlds but we won't really know how it's gonna be until it comes out.

There isn't any thing bad about it. The entire game is Monster Hunter at its core and modified slightly for larger maps, as there isn't any "sections" anymore.
Literally the only ones crying over it are drones who believe a behind-closed-doors demo is indicative of the final product, despite them already stating they're working on many things they're trying to complain about anyway.

Monster Hunter has had damage indicators from the start. What do you think blood and bone spraying off hits to the body and destructible parts were? The thing World is adding is the ability to enable or disable damage numbers in the options. If you'd quit knee-jerking you would see it as a good thing, since this information was stupidly obscure before and involved comparing weapon attacks and monster damage zones on wikis if you wanted to have any clue what you were doing wrong. Monster Hunter has long suffered from reliance on external sources like that, but some dumbasses confuse it for difficulty.
