Is there a better video game sidekick than Midna?

I don't know why but Midna manages to make me harder than anything else in video games

How about a sidekick that actually does stuff gameplay-wise? The only thing Midna does is provide an excuse for transforming and fast-traveling, shit they could easily justify by giving you your own magic trinket. Here are some better examples:
