it seems empty and grindy to me
I've never been a fan of these MMOs where you spend a shitload of money enchanting your gear just so you can be viable, and after you've spent all that time and money enchanting all you can do with that gear is grind mobs that don't pose a threat or do pvp

I've been playing it for the last week (free trial)

The combat is extremely fun and I like the world a lot, but it's stupidly grindy, and I heard the late-game upgrade system and the endgame content is shit right now

I would probably wait and see what they do with it

No. It's nothing but grind and PK. No real endgame content. You spam the same 3 animations to kill horde of stupid mobs.

All the faction shit confused me. The combat is fun though. The amount of stuff you can do is quite overwhelming.
