Just jumped in the thread but I am pretty versed on the history of Atari and it's current situation so let me attempt to pass it on to you. Atari is dead. Atari has no employees. There is no Atari CEO. The company has no money to hire a studio to make anything at all. All there is, is the name Atari. And the collection of classic games. The brand now belongs to a holding company who licenses the branding out to companies like Hot Topic to make T-Shirts or the studio making the new Blade Runner movie to throw some nostalgic vibes in their new movie. Denny's a year or two back bought a license to make an app crossing classic Atari games with their breakfast menu items.

So what is happening now? Hard to tell since we got nothing but teaser videos and little to no info. But my educated guess is that someone making another droid box bought the Atari license to cash in on the nostalgia. Slap some wood paneling on an Ouya, say it's an official Atari product, and try and make a deal with Walmart, Target, and 5 Below. Not sure why posters here are eating this shit up when we all know it's bullshit. Guess the groovy vibes are too infectious to ignore. And it is fun to imagine a world where not everything in the video game industry is a scam.
