$30 can be a bit steep and its never gone on sale, (not yet atleast), but its REALLY worth it, I got it and have already sunk plenty of hours into it, and the stories you take away from it can be awesome.

I liked prison arcitecht too, I don't know why I hate the pretty much identical art style in this. Maybe because it's brown instead of the colorful PA look. I do have plenty of experience with all sorts of management games though, like PA or Banished etc.

If the game is good I have no problem playing it for months a few hours at a time. I have about 2 hours on Steam for the past 6 months but this game looks intetesting. However I'd take 20 hours of Grade A entertainment over 200 hours of Grade B entertainment for the same price. Has nothing to do with genres.

The game by itself is shit. Grab the right mods however and its decent. Better off with dwarffortress honestly, just sit down and memorize the damn keybindings and youll be fine. Lazynub pack is even up to date so that helps too.

Select a colonist. Right click a weapon, select "Equip".

Colonists will only use weapons if ordered to equip. Apparel they will grab on their own. You can force them to wear stuff but they will never take it off unless ordered, even if dying of heatstroke.
