it's already been saved for the most part. their only problem is maintaining interest into the next console gen, which Phil seems to be doing an okay job of. They really need to sign on 3 or 4 of the smaller companies already making games for Xbox that they showed off at their E3 show. It'd really help them to get some relatively interesting smaller titles throughout the year. This is what Nintendo did with the 3DS and it worked great for them.

i'd like to see what earnings are from the Xbox division, it probably has a lot of revenue due to the price of hardware but it has tons of expenses as well. Probably costs more to run the Xbox division than Office.

Xbox was only relevant because halo became a global phenomenon. Halo is shit and dead now, and all the kiddies who grew up with it have moved on to other bad games. MS knows they'll never come up with another game like that, so they gave up and ported everything to pc

What about Halo 5, Sunset Overdrive, Rare Replay, and the Master Chief Collection? Those are actual Xbox One exclusives and they are not available on PC.

They make more profit on software and Xbox Live, but a $300 piece of hardware that costs $299 to make is going to do more for their revenue than a $60 game. Revenue doesn't mean much in this context, Amazon's revenue is fucking retarded high compared to their actual income / profit.

True, it's probably why they priced the Xbox One X at $499 instead of $399. They don't get to charge Xbox One S / One owners more for games or Xbox Live so why cannibalize your base a bunch? They get their pointless dick measuring prize for most powerful console hardware while the most important part of their base gets cheap hardware.

Pretty sure they ran the numbers and saw that the Xbox and PC audiences were mainly separate. Remember that idorts and people with strong PCs are a pretty small minority of the video game buying public. They realized the good PR and option of crossplay for all their games was worth the tiny hit to sales from more serious hobbyists like the people on this board.

STEP 1. DIVERSIFY
Create exclusives that showcase a large variety of genres. Cuphead is a step in the right direction. Xbox needs platformers, Puzzles, Adventures, Beatem ups, Everything.

STEP 2. DROP PC SUPPORT
Putting your games on a platform with more freedom to do what you want is a stupid idea. If somebody wants to play halo they should have to buy a xbox. Nobody throws a shitfit that they cant play mario on pc (that arent Autistic)

Step 3. MARKET THE SYSTEM
Make everyone and their mother wet at the power of the Xbox one X. Let everyone know that the Definitive version of the games they want to play is on the XBOX. Check this new exclusive? Only on Xbox.

STEP 4.
INCREASE THE HYPE

In what ways does Forza Motorsport 7 improve upon its predecessor outside of more content and better graphics?

What I really want are more tracks like Rio and a return of the Tokyo tracks, a jukebox feature so that I can listen to my Hospital Records playlist, a fun and engaging career mode that isn't a chore to play through and an improved online multiplayer (24 player races are a mistake).

By making it a worthwhile alternative to a PC. You can say "most powerful console on the market for $500" but $500 is approaching PC levels, and few consoles were ever that expensive (PS3, 3DO, NeoGeo) at release. Not to mention Xbox One X is basically a speed bump of Xbox One and not new hardware. The solution would be to just make it Windows 10 compatible and in reality be a branded PC designed to be hooked up to a TV. You would be able to add Steam and whatever other Win10 software without much hassle this way.
