late to the party because of school and work and other games but i've played about 2 hours of bioshock and it's just not doing a thing for me... is 2 any better? and would it fuck with the story if i dont finish this boring asf game?

If you don't like 1, chances are you're not going to like 2. 2's story isn't really connected to 1 but there are still enough references that you might want to beat 1 first.

Bioshock is boring and dull to you because it's a husk of a game.

Play System Shock 2 and see the core they drilled out of the game and replaced with pseudointellectual filler.
