Among people who gave half a shit about Chris-chan, Bob Chandler was deeply respected. He was polite to -and enjoyed talking with- the trolls who tried to crank call the Chandler household, and at least tried to help Chris even if his attempts were less than successful.

When he died, the wiki actually went down for the week, which says something about how much the people who cyberstalk Chris think highly of him.

No, my parents have been divorced since I was 2. My dad has been a very small uninvolved part of my life. I spent time with im on the weekends when I was younger but as I got older and developed my own hobbies/interests/etc. he just stopped being there.

The only good vidya memory I have with him is I was 7 and a cousin had left their SNES at his place with DKC2, 3 and Kirby Super Star

My dad sat and taught me to play Kirby Super Star co-op with him since he'd been fiddling with it and while I quickly learned to do better in the game than him its probably one of the only really positive "ideal"memories I have of spending time with him

Also Kirby Super Star is a 10/10 game and thats probably why its my GOAT game

I just said happy fathers day to my mum this morning and said thanks for doing two jobs

Same. My story is exactly the same.
>>
Unfortunately I have to work all day so I can't see him,but I did call and wish him a happy father's day.

My parents divorced when I was 6 but they shared custody so I have plenty of good memories with my Dad. We got into Halo together and he took me and my friends out to buy Halo 3 at the midnight release, then he and the three of us stayed up all night beating it together. He loves Halo so much that he bought a second 360 just so that he didn't have to split screen with us- I think that between the two of us we've got like five copies of Halo 3.

As I got older I grew less interested o the series though. I beat Reach and 4 and didn't even bother with 5. He got stuck at Reach and never beat it.

We have tentative plans to play Halo 3 again in September, for it's 10 year anniversary.

>Chris is literally reenacting Weekend at Bernie's with Barb's corpse
>>
>>381042389
Lots of companies have agreements that patents are company property. Cross that with the very real possibility that Bob wasn't the genius inventor they made him out to be and either way you have a credible reason for the lack of cash flow.

>>
yeah blackjack in the casino
>>
>>381042389
It depends on the patent really.

Quick storytime related to that: My grandpa invented the tab you peel to open up cigarette cartons, CD cases, etc. and sold it back in the 1940's and made a lot of money off of it, eventually buying two hotels in Florida and living pretty good until around 1966 when the businesses went under and he went broke and died a couple years later of cancer.
Glad my dad managed to make something of himself after that.

I had a professor in college who invented a few patents for things relating to food manufacturing. Though he made some money off of them, it wasn't enough so he could retire early or at all.

Though you can invent stuff with patents, there's no real guarantee that it will be used widely enough to return a lot of money.

Your kids don't have to see you die and you don't have to see your Dad die if you kill yourself before you have kids anon

My Father is not a very good person and used to beat the shit out of my mother in front of me. I still called him today because him being asshole doesn't give me a pass. I'm driving to visit him next week. Since he retired he just kind of sits alone watching westerns all day and no one deserves that kind of life.

When I Was five he bought a joystick and a bunch of games for his office pc. Never really got why, he's not really the type. He taught me to play Mechwarrior 2 and some of the old Janes plane sims. He never gamed again. It's one of about two good memories we have, that and him teaching me how to shoot and hunt. So, yeah, happy Fathers Day Dad, I'll think of you when that new battle tech game comes out. Lifelong love of giant stompy robots all thanks to you.

Nope.

My dad died this past Thursday from Pancreatic Cancer. He found out he had it back in February on his Birthday, and he was a few weeks into his retirement. He had a stroke because docs took him off blood thinners and forgot to put him back on them after doing the first round of chemo. Shit is fucking unfair. He didn't deserve anything that happened to him.

Now I have to defend my mom from my sister raping her of her retirement funds. She is almost 40, treated my parents like garbage. If she didn't have her daughter with her she would've been on the streets years ago. She made my wife cry today because we found out she was omitted from the obituary because it was written by... You guessed it... My sister.

My dad used to play and watch vidya with me. Now he's gone a bit crazy because the church has him believing in demons and exorcisms.
Not even tipping my fedora here, but it's legitimately ruining his life. Can't sleep, only eats one meal a day, constantly having to go to church. Don't know what I could even do since he thinks everything non-church related is unnecessary.
Wish I could play vidya with him again, though. It was fun playing Crash Team Racing and him getting mad at the homing rocket pickups.

My dad and I have a very shaky relationship. My mom died when I was 16 and we all had to struggle to get by, but I never made it easy for him. I was a shithead back then, and I still kinda am. My dad eventually got a girlfriend and we eventually moved to California to make a new live for ourselves, but due to a bunch of bullshit that's worth its own story I get kicked out of the house. If it weren't for my dad helping me out behind her back I'd probably would've died in the streets.

My bitch of a stepmom ruined our relationship after another incident and we didn't speak to each other for a little over a year, but when I finally got the guts to call him we just talked for hours about our lives and shit. I fucking teared up when he said he loved me, over a year since he "disowned" me. That was about a year ago, and while are relationship isn't too good we at least are on good terms.

He's had back problems for the last ten years or so, two vertebrae are cracked and will never really heal again.

I mean, he's 65 years old and it's all a natural cycle I guess, but still it's hard watching someone that was always strong getting old, not being able to do physical stuff like carry the tv or sides of a wardrobe closet on his own, unless he wants to be in pain for the next few days because his muscles don't work well anymore and that he forgets more stuff these days and it's only going to get worse and worse. Old age is a mother fucker. Still love him and hope he's gonna be around for many more years.

Not sure about the mom but I'm pretty sure it did more of a number on the brother. Although her boyfriend ended up pretty fucked, too.

>father leaves when baby due to alcohol
>see him a few times during weekends when I was a kid though
>he breaks contact when I was 10 or so, again due to alcohol and losing his apartment
>finds me on normiebook when I'm 25, wants to rekindle or whatever
>meet up, he can barely stand because his body is falling apart at 61
>tells me he's sorry for not being there
>want to tell him he's a fuckface for leaving us
>just tell him it's ok, he seems happy
>he calls me a few times after, he's way too drunk for me to understand anything
>eventually he stops
>haven't heard from him in a few years now
I'll probably get a call from his sister anyday now, he didn't look like he had much left
It's always been a point for me to be better than he was, however easy that seems to be, so he gave me that i guess

My girlfriend spent the day depressed because her father died one month ago. I took her to the funeral. Made me realize I could lose mine any day.

Today i went to see my dad and he talked to us about history and engineering like he always does. My landlord heard me come home tonight and tried to pressure me to pay him more rent than is legal. My dad ended up calling him and threatening to call the cops, he negotiated with him in order to help me leave this apartment for what was my original rent price.

Thanks dad. I don't know if you'll always be around to save my dumb ass. Love you.

People might try to keep him alive via donations.
Someone might offer to take him in but its highly unlikely.
Maybe he finally manages to get a job but fucks up somehow or gets bored of it in a couple of days.

My dad doesn't play games and we're in different countries right now. So I just messaged him now to wish him a Happy Father day and tell him I love him. He immediately replied that he loves me too. Feels nice, though I can't help but feel that I'm not entirely living up to his ideals about me.

He was never present much in my life during early childhood due to work and I don't think he knew how to deal with a child, he seemed uncomfortable. But as time passed, he started becoming more affectionate with me and now he displays his love for me more than my mom, which is a slightly weird turn of events.

Wasn't Bob the only remotely sane person in that family?

I feel kinda sorry for the dude. Served his country, worked to provide for his family, which turned out to be a land whale and a mentally deficient turd.

No, my dad died 6 years ago from cancer. The last thing he said to me was that he loved me. My uncle told me later that the last thing he said to him was that he couldn't deal with the pain anymore.
