I DREADED playing as Mario and Luigi cause it meant I wasn't playing as Bowser.

How was this game so bitterly good? I love it when you play as Bowser with a colorful personality. Which begs the question; will Bowser ever get his own game in 3D glory? If so, what would you like to see? I don't think Nintendo would have Mario get his shit stomped so it'll probably have some Midbus-like character as the antagonist.

I like it better with Bowser as a teammate. SMRPG is one of my favs because you get Bowser's personality all game and he's a badass party member.
