I've been bored 2 weeks after the launch. Game has no substance, and the gameplay gets stale after I hit level 25. Shame because it runs great on my pc.

Nope. Played it nearly every day since release. Currently Lv. 590. Still enjoying it a ton and made it to Diamond for the first time ever this season. Looking forward to Horizon being added next week, as well as getting my third gold weapon at the end of this season. Also I love the fuck out of D.Va.

Playing Overwatch makes me miss TF2. The damage falloff in OW is shit, everybody is so fucking long ranged, abilities dumb the characters down and chalk the game up to cooldown management and using your ult when you know it's safe to, as opposed to ammo management and footwork. OW's map's are pretty much chokepoint after chokepoint. KOTH and CTF are the only modes where the maps feel like you actually have some space to move around in, as opposed to following a narrow, tight path.

In TF2, it took teamwork and some semblance of coordination to fight off an Uber, in OW you just avoid others' ults, and then ult when their ults are off CD, which is to say you press Q to receive a win, because it's not like an Uber where you team up with someone to try and pull off something grand, the grand shit jsut -happens- when you ult in OW.

I still really like OW, it's just that I can't play it for too long or I REALLY begin to miss TF2. So much shit that kills you in OW just makes you wish you were legitimately outplayed as opposed to feeling like "Oh, well they used their ability on me, so I died."

Never got bored because i never cared in the first place

Yeah, I got a little bored of it. Had a lot of fun for a while, but eventually, matches started feeling really samey, the issues became more noticeable, and the emphasis on LIMITED TIME ONLY events and boxes kind of killed my interest in their new content.

Still, I'll probably reinstall after this next big update, see how it goes.

I´ve been discussing this game with a friend who plays paladin yesterday.
And he told me the game has ways to break shields if you build your character the right way with cards, which are like weapon slots on TF2, vary the characters playstyle a little bit.
And made me realize how you barely have enough options to deal with shields in OW. only a handful of them pierce shields and destroys them. in fact i dont think there is a way to fully counter a shield.
He also told me the maps in paladins favore gameplay over looks. unlike overwatch and i have to agree with that one. OW maps may look nice but they play like total ass.

My other gripe with this game is the way it doesnt let you have fun with the maps.
if you happen to find a spot that you can reach. say a roof. the game will make you slide down and make you fall because it literally doesnt allow you to use the boundaries to your advatange even if the spot is perfectly reachable.

No fun allowed. The game.

Overwatch was always meant to be a shallow, casual, pick-up-and-play team shooter that you could have fun with while playing with friends. Instead, the tryhard rejects who couldn't make it in actual competitive games swarmed the game, Blizzard pushed it for esports, and the literal children that comprise the OW fanbase because screeching and crying indefinitely, demanding changes and nerfs to things that could kill them. That's what started to kill the game for me.

It got to the point where I would play whatever made bitches the angriest: I played McCree pre-nerf, and Roadhog, and Mei, and whatever character people bitched about the most at any given time. But the fact that Blizzard continues to bend over backwards for these inbreds is what really kills the game and makes the whole experience anti-fun, to the point where even playing to make people mad wasn't worth it anymore. On that note, I still cannot believe they censored "gg ez" like pussies when it's literally a voice line for one of their characters anyway.

OW is a great example of how and why Esports has had such a bad impact on games.

The splitting of "Quick Play" and "Competitive" in an FPS means you walk into OW and want to just play and get better at the game, and want the opposing team to be of equal or maybe better skill. But you can't walk into "Competitive" right away because you don't know anything and people will just scream at you and purposefully make your experience shit, so you play other modes, and in every other mode you get a bunch of chucklefucks who just flat out don't care to actually play the game, improve, etc. Etc. Instead the mentality is now "woah dont take it so seriously it isnt competitive bros its all for fun" which there's nothing wrong with wanting to have fun, but if you want to just PLAY the game and improve, you need people to want that as well. So you play these modes, suffer through all these retards, THEN walk into "Competitive" with more experience under your belt, and THERE, people scream and bitch and moan and purposefully throw games because they feel like everyone else on their team is against them and making them look bad because "Competitive" is all about these points which somehow determine how good/bad you are at the game, so now everyone's precious little ego is on the line and shit.

I will play it because it is a usually populated multiplayer title.

Sometimes it's kind of sad. Like imagine you had plans to go with someone to a really nice restaurant, but then something happened and you don't have any dinner prep so you just go through a fast food drive thru? That's what it's like playing Overwatch. I could be playing TF2, but the matchmaking is weird and results in shitstomps, and all my favorite community servers are dead.

So I'll play Overwatch, hope I get a team that doesn't have a Genji or Hanzo main, play on one of the rare maps that isn't complete shit.

I wish I was better at Counter-Strike.

Nah, I'm just sick of Competitive. I realized the only reason I was even bothering to play Competitive was the golden gun skins, and not my actual skill as a player improving. So I'm just gonna stick to Quickplay and Arcade and have fun there where you're not forced to play meta heroes all the time. Will still try my best in ten placement matches every season so that I get 800-1000 points for a Golden Gun every couple months

Game is boring as shit. Maps suck dick, and half the cast sucks and are pointless while the other half shits on them. heroes are put in sports their not supposed to be in (Symmetra being the biggest example) with the whole defense classification might as well not even needing to exist. Tracer is possibly the greatest abomination in terms of design for a FPS while being more of an obnoxious forced Waifu than Lightning was.

The maps really are very poorly made. I get it's 6v6, but you don't fucking NEED to make the maps so fucking cramped and limited.

And then you have some areas like the Attacking team spawn point on Hanamura, where there's space that absolutely never gets used because it's better to just defend at the chokepoint, so you've got room and the means to make a more wider and open map, but instead it's just fucking ignored.

I literally started this week because it was cheap.

80% of the cast is unbearably boring to play.

The rest is okay, it's fun to goof around with friends, and Ana is tons of fun to play.

I'd love an arcade mode where ults don't exists though.

See, here's the thing.

I've modestly decent at Counter-Strike, but I get when I was outplayed and it's a pretty liberalized playing field outside of maps like de_dust that were very friendly to one particular team. There's not a lot to account for, just what the enemy is using, what you're using, and where you are in the map. There's not a lot of randomness to it.

My biggest issue with Overwatch is it tries to replicate TF2's push-based momentum, but while with OW you had people organizing around sentries and ubercharges which can be broken at any time to stop the push or the wall, as it were, Overwatch's gamechangers are the ultimates which never decay and persist through death. It makes matches slower than they already are.

I've stopped playing about a month ago. The game just isn't fun to play anymore. It was fun when it first started, but I realized how shallow it actually was. I used to play competitive because I liked the challenge and wanted to see how well I could do, but every matches played out the same way over and over again. I actually went back to playing tf2, and while it's not perfect, it's like a breath of fresh air compared to overwatch.

Nah man I feel you there. I stopped playing OW after the Christmas event and flipped over to FFXIV for a little while to get my gear up for the xpac, but came back to OW for the Anniversary event.

Took a break between all that shit to enjoy some Persona 4.

Been having a good amount of fun so far, got the skins I wanted, 6v6 elim is pretty fun.

Right now I'm slowly going through the new XIV, but it is a little bit lonesome since my circle of friends including my wife are burning through the content as fast as they can...like everyone I know sat there and tried to get into a broken instance for 12+ hours...while I watched movies, played OW and slept.

I would still be playing right now if it was not for Mercy. I am one of those fucking brain washed fools who actually does enjoy playing.

I'll come back if theres another event or they fix Mercy.

Honestly never should have happened within a time-span that short. I would have expected the first one on the anniversary honestly. Ana caused the Beyblade, world of tanks, and omnic crisis metas by herself, Sombra is downright useless as her own character and teamed up with other competent players with shit damage, downright dumb cloaking, stupid hacking, and a discount translocater from tracer. The only things I could see her as being positive are the hacked health packs and her ult. Orisa is a not reinhardt, she can't shield as much as him, do as much damage as him, and can't lay down the smackdown as much as he can. Even his ult is better than hers.

Supposedly they're going to be making maps specifically for CTF, and MAYBE add rules to the flag carrier, as in no movement abilities for the person holding the flag.

Hopefully this turns out to be true, CTF was the only mode I wanted to sit there and play for hours, I suppose because it felt more TF2-esque in that both teams had people dedicated to guarding the flag, and then the rest focus on going FOR the flag, shit like that.

I was bored of it when I got into the beta.

The game has no depth, the maps are shit tier choke point clusterfucks, the game modes are the worst kinds, and the TTK disparity makes the game a massive grindfest, and will forever enable the tank based meta because there are no objectives where mobility, lethality, and control matters, just park 1.5k EHP on a point and don't die and you win.

Got my meme top 500, game is dead to me. Blizzard's designers as a whole are incompetent even across other products which makes me think its actually a higher up memeing their games. They're all watered down casual trash and ontop of that they can't get balance right. Even the game is a mess visually with all the bloom and particle effects. Then there's the numerous broken hitboxes such as Mei's ult with its stupid verticality that can hit you without seeing it. Like SC2 this game will meme itself out of a healthy competitive scene due to slow patches, stale metas and imbalances.
