Considering that Silent Hills was literally nothing, it's not like he's copying from a previous thing. Likely all of the ideas were in his head, and he's within his rights to use them. He even went as far as to get Norman Reedus again.

Yeah, I really wish that is the case.
But when it comes to Kojima-san we can't really tell.
I was deeply invested in SH, as I'm a huge fan of Junji Ito and really digged the Reedus-Del Toro collaboration.
What I'm hoping for right now is that Ito is still on board and DS is a horror game.
We can only dream.
