Looks like its gonna be like Battlefield 1942 and 2 - emphasis on infantry, vehicles as well as supply lines and commanding

Looks authentic too with none of the historical liberties taken with the setting like COD WWII, cautiously hype, no trailer yet, or much else besides a few screenshots.

Since it is in Unreal 4 I wonder if it could ever be modded to have VR support. It would be really fun to play a shooter with WWII content in VR. Although ironsights can become a bit washed out due to the resolution of the headsets. Probably why most have stuck to the modern era with holo sights.

It's not that simple. Sometimes a chassis just cannot be upgraded (vide Pz III and IV) any further, so you have to develop new ones, but you can't replace every tank overnight, so you end up with a bit of a mess.

Also, a lot of German equipment was captured, because the German industry and logistics weren't able to cope with the needs of the army, so they had to use everything they could to supplement that.

Heroes & Generals wasn't supposed to have micro-transactions in the beginning... and now it's a freaking Pay 2 Win shitfest.

I actually had an early key to test the game when it was first announced. There were a few private sessions to report stuff and make suggestions.

The game was good back then and it really felt like some big scale fighting. Guns were good too. The menu was simple. There were still unlocks for some guns/upgrades, but they were easily attainable. They didn't have micro-transactions in the early days. The only downside was the optimization.

Now?

It takes two months of playing 8hrs/day, to get enough credits to unlock a simple thing. The maps are bad now, and they even changed the gameplay to attract more new players and milk them out of their hard earned money.

Truly pathetic, since it really had potential to be a good game.

Anyways, the point is that they advertised one thing... they even created hype about the whole large scale battle... they said no micro-transactions... they claimed the game was free because of ads... etc, etc.

But in the end, they made it P2W and even fucked up the gameplay.
