almost everyone I've talked to says the series gets even better as it goes on

I like how the game gave more character development to Bowser. And, made the Mario bros just side characters. I hope they make more games like this where the supporting characters are given the spotlight.

PiT is a dip in quality but other then that and PJ it's smooth sailing.

PiT is considered the lowest point of the series while BiS is the second most common game to be called the best in the series. the 3DS games have a largely mixed reception here but DT is my personal favorite and PJ has excellent battles
