My dad died 5 years ago, while I lived with him. We had a really good but slightly distant relationship.

When it happened I wondered when I'd ever feel better about it. In all honesty I STILL feel just as bad about his passing now as I did then. But I have adjusted my life to him not being here. I used to wonder when I'd get over the death of a loved one but now I realize I'm never going to "get over it" like that. And the more time passes the more I'm grateful of our happiness together. So I am happier now.

But everyone grieves differently so whatever.

Ironically one could argue Tidus' issues stem more from how his mom acted than how Jecht was, since she basically ignored him at every turn, especially when Jecht was around.
