Is anyone else really annoyed by the amount of downtime in every DMC game? I really like the combat but all the backtracking and walking around really makes me lose interest. Especially in the maze sections. It doesn't help that every combat encounter is over really quickly.

>Complaining about downtime in action games
Spotted the ADHD shit taste retard.
DMC4 literally does not have enough downtime.
Well, there is bloody palace. Though I prefer the type in 3 where there's some degree of randomness so no two runs are the same.
I don't mind the downtime. DMC has always had neat architecture, art pieces, and overall details to the level design that I like to take in. Atmosphere is pretty good.
I think I also appreciated the down time more in DMC1 since it was still kind of a horror game and I kind of dreaded the next encounter. Later DMCs lightened up, but Mallet Island had a really oppressive vibe.

DMC4 fucked up downtimes.
DMC1 & 3 actually had good downtimes, with the exploration of the setting and platforming.
