Are there any downsides to using a Mr. Gency exit before you clear 10 levels of an item world? Like, I've heard that if you do, the levels you've completed before don't count towards the item leveling up or something. Is that true?
I'm talking about Disgaea 1 btw. I've found myself on the level 10 of the item world where the general is on a floating island. I really want to get the boost from the general, but I also don't want to lose the previous 9 levels.

Yeah, that's what I've heard, but I found a topic on gamefags that says it doesn't matter if you use the Exit preemptively or don't. But that's the only post on the topic I could find.

Read the OP. I have a dilemma of clearing 10 levels without killing the general, or exiting at 9 and trying to go back for the general later.
Which one is a better option?

Hm, I found another source saying that using the exit doesn't have any negative consequences, as long as you don't do that AFTER defeating the general, because apparently there's a bug that makes it not count. So I guess I'll roll with that option.
