I also just started this series a week or 2 ago but got pretty bored of 1 and went to 2 soon after. 2 is hell of a lot more fun but I'm still occasionally going back to 1 just to finish it.

I've been enjoying it way more than 1 just due to how Wario controls, he has a lot more speed & control which I'm liking. I don't know how it compares to the later games though, I haven't touched them yet since I was originally planning to play these in order.

I would put 2 over 3 cause I liked the branching story lines more so then the Metroidvania thing 3 had going on, but then again 3 has some amazing level design. Both are equal in the end tbqh, 3=2>4>1 is a better ranking.

It's not even fair to compare 1 to 2-3 or to 4
1 is basically a regular 2D platformer that has more in common with Mario games

2-3 is completly different, you can't die, sort of objective based ,branching paths, massive maps for a GB game

4 is sort of like a mix of the two genres

I personally prefer 1 over any of them, because it's just a regular platformer, no gimmicks

Better than any of its sequels.
