I think she was ok in other m the problem is the canon personality that people had formed in their heads, she is only human guys, her family was murdered then she was raised by fucking birds its not a stretch that she would fall for Adam, and then he also fucking dies.

And her pleas at the end of the game are totally in character with her Super self: a woman who values life and wants to preserve it, but not one who isn't willing to kill when necessary. Assuming the next original Sakamoto-directed game after Samus Returns is post-Fusion, we can have a potentially really interesting situation where Samus is being hunted by the Federation for blowing up the BSL and SR388 and not being sure who to trust could be a theme. AI Adam was much better than real Adam so I wouldn't mind seeing him again, nor would I mind something like Samus getting inside help from Anthony. Not all of Other M needs to be ignored, just the most stupid parts of it, and most of them were only relevant to Other M itself anyway. The only thing they really need to do is not making Samus a complete pussy, but seeing how she wouldn't be getting orders from anyone in such a game, but rather fighting power, there'd be less of a risk of that happening.

Not well defined in the games. In everything but Other M she seems both confident and competent, which it why it's so jarring that she's nothing like that. Given she rescues the Dachora in Super and Fusion it seems she's either somewhat compassionate, or has a soft spot for animals. Her willingness to disobey the federation in fusion suggests she's trusts her own judgment instead of authority.

I really want a game that continues the story after Fusion. It shouldn't be heavily story focused, or filled with cutscenes, but occasional dialogue like fusion's would be okay.
