Try this. It's what is probably most similar to your current set up.

Muscle > Armorer. Muscle has health regen so in the long run you'll be way more tankier (this doesn't even account for the increased health you get and the panic ability, which will synergise with your sniper rifle).

This goes off the assumption that you're just starting out. Once you get infamy you'll be able to reduce the skill points needed to progress to another tier. This can save you a few valuable points for putting into more important skills.

Honestly, what killed the game for me was the never-ending flood of DLC that never seemed to have any decent quality control behind them. The sheer quantity is either too intimidating for new players or leaves a bad taste in your mouth for older players like me, especially after the paid vaults fiasco from two years ago.

It's unfortunate since I agree that Payday 2 is an excellent game and it's probably one of the best co-op games on PC. It's just that the financing model constantly made me feel like a bunch of Koreans in suits and ties were pulling the strings behind Overkill, and the Goat Simulator event was what convinced me never to look back. It's become more cash cow than game at this point.

Damage nerfs are a fact of life for online games, so that's not something that's unforgivable. I skimmed through some articles on Eurogamer and Forbes and it sounds like the worst of it was resolved mid-2016 and they're starting pre-production for Payday 3.

Honestly, after everything that happened, I'd return to the game if I had a reasonable assurance that it's not going to get worse. Since they're only going to support Payday 2 for another year or two, it sounds like I don't have to worry about being pissed off by yet another game studio making stupid decisions.

Big issue is that apparently all the DLC has been packaged into a lump sum of $45, like people mentioned earlier. That feels like a really half-assed solution to the DLC creep since I was interested in only buying a new character and maybe the new heists. Instead of making the lump sum an appealing option, they made it the only option. That's a little weird and I'd have to think about that.

I remember a lot of people claiming that 505 Games was the primary reason for all this nickel-and-diming and I was skeptical even then that Overkill had no control over this. The core idea behind Payday 2 is excellent and there are so many good things going for it. Agreed. I must have put 450-600 hours into Payday 2 and enjoyed the beta. By the time the safe fiasco happened I uninstalled PayDay 2 so fucking fast and never reinstalled it again. I had oodles of fucking fun perfecting heists, and I'll never forget the satisfaction of actually doing Framing Frame on Overkill full stealth. With that said, the absolutely atrocious mismanagement over there at the company and their policy of milking PayDay 2 for all its worth quickly made me shut it off forever.

No 'Ultimate Edition' is going to get me to fork over any coinage for them. It should have been free for day 1 buyers who put up with their shit.

Is Payday 2 realistically consistently playable without any form of voice coms?
