Everyone realised they were just conning people by removing so much content out of the base games that they were no longer fun.

The Sims 4 with all of its expansions are still not as fun as its predecessor due to the lack of open world - but they never managed to figure out how to get the loading times down. They need it to work on lower end PCs to market to casuals.

It doesn't help that they pushed more for a "storytelling" route than for anything at all difficult.

Sims was always a directionless "do what you want" kind of structure, though. Which might why I actually prefer Sims Medieval more than anything after the first Sims.

The game still has 2 years left until the usual Sims game life cycle. They're actually doublng down on releasing content this year. Already released 2 stuff packs and a game pack in 5 months. If they keep this up the game will at least be on par with Sims 2 in content.

So I keep trying to come back to 4, but it's just too boring. Nothing you do matters. That's all i get from that game. There are no consequences. The emotions/moods thing means absolutely nothing but another animation. That's all you're doing in this game. Watching animations play out, without getting any sense of accomplishment, like i worked really hard for x.
I used to play Sims 3 Pets on the 360 back in the day and I liked that game a lot. I had grinded my way to the top, starting as a broke bum in the city to living in the 3rd most expensive house in the city with a beautiful wife and 2 children and the most expensive car in the game. I felt amazing knowing that i achieved all that.

Man, Kinkyworld is some good shit with like over 500 animations, but it takes over 50 fucking packages to frankenstein together plus manually adding two animation sets of the 8 each game that don't auto-add for some reason.

I only messed with Passion a little bit, but IIRC all it does is add animated sex on top of the default romance/relationship system.

Kinky World offers a lot of other stuff, it's got two new skills (Woohoo and Exhibition), new traits to go along with them, a system in place to turn your sim into a prostitute, apparently there's a brothel system now but I haven't tried it yet. Really too much content to list briefly here. There's just a ton of features and it's all integrated pretty well into the game.

Sims 2 was the shit. Many great memories from it. I like the cars, the stuff to do, the mysteries etc. I remember even people making these diaries on the Sims page and all in all it was a good game. I enjoyed the console versions too. Sims was alright but like we all know it's a pain once you play it for a longer time due to all the loading and stuttering. Sims 4 looks good and runs well but just doesn't have the atmosphere and feel of Sims 2. And few expansions too.
