Thawing potions don't work on holy freeze aura's slowing effect. In fact, "cannot be frozen" item mod also doesn't work on Holy Freeze Aura.

Normal mode Duriel is the hardest boss in the game. Even for sorcs since by the time you get to duriel you probably only have level 1 teleport so you are burning all your mana on teleport to dodge instead of casting your shitty spells (and god forbid if you are a cold sorc).

You don't have the mana, you don't have the cast rate to spam teleport fast enough and get in spells and you are too low level to have any really good gear or high health.

So.. yeah, buy all those mana potions and constantly be chugging them while dodging WHILE trying to cast offensive spells fast enough to get past his regeneration. Holy freeze or not, after a single hit he has you stun locked and we all know sorcs have great defense and hp amirite?

This guy was actually fun. I think I had the difficulty set to hard when i stepped into this fight and the fight itself lasted like 12-15 minutes. I was having a harder time preventing the AI from dying rather than myself. I think I eventually gave up on the prospect of it in lieu of not wanting to waste anymore Life Bottles and just ended up 1v1ing him for the majority of the second half of the fight.

Because the game misleads you. When you jump on the barrel it reacts to your weight hitting it so you naturally think that you have to jump and keep hitting it with good timing to drop it low enough. Nothing besides the manual (which plenty of people either didn't read or didn't have) tells you that you can use up/down on the D-pad to control the barrel, and you wouldn't figure it out by just mashing everything on the controller either since the barrel still has a bit of it's own movement to it.

This boss battle is basically unwinnable unless you actually figure out how you should have been playing all along to get all the ridiculous bonus objectives from past missions. Anyway, you might not completely fuck yourself but the difficulty can massively fluctuate depending on your build. My Ramza was a Dragoon but I was underleveled so Wiegraf was out DPSing me. I eventually beat him by figuring out how to skip his turns with jump but I imagine certain setups would be far more difficult.

He's some literally who introduced in that cutscene who basically just shows up, dumps some exposition on your party, and then shoves his holy dragon sword up your waifu's ass and does 500 damage at the point of the game where your tankiest characters are almost hitting 300 HP. He's also fast as fuck and has buffs/debuffs out the ass.

I don't have a picture, but I remember Rogue Galaxy having some pretty serious casual filters, the prison was pretty fucking bad but I got stuck on the solo fight as the dog dude who you've had in your party all of 5 seconds and have no gear or skills for him, pissed me off because I liked that game too.

Yes, it's also what makes him so fucking hard. Chrono Cross has a stamina system where if you run out of stamina completely the enemies get 2-3 turns before you get your stamina back to punish you. Casting magic/using techs costs 7 stamina (the maximum you can have) and you can go into negative stamina. Miguel being so fast means he's constantly casting spells, which turns the field effect (that oval thing in the upper left) white, and when that's fully white, all white attacks are powered up. His combo is that he spams attacks that raise vulnerability to white attacks, block use of black attacks, and then he'll doublecast a spell that lowers magic defense and his holy dragon sword. So if you don't cast anything before he does that combo, you end up with a white field effect and his sword will hit for about 300-500 damage.

Jade Cocoon has been one of my favorite games ever since I first played the demo. Even now it's my #2 favorite game of all time.

I used to not like the sequel but it grew on me. The lore rape, bastardization of returning characters, and dumbing down of the merging system are still shit but the battle system is phenomenal.
