Honestly? RDM is probably my favorite as it is right now. While I don't have access to all my PVE abilities, PVP has shown me what the later ones like Verflare and Verholy look like. RDM is very flashy ability-wise, and I enjoy that.

Dragoon. Knights wielding spears who do combat with dragons in one way: taking to the air with powerful jumps and fighting them on their own terrain. The image of them tangling with these giant winged monsters and clearly at a disadvantage, but still being THE best dragon killers is really fucking cool.

Plus they had an entire expansion dedicated to them and their conflict, the image of that one Dragoon atop the spire as the clouds part in the Heavensward trailer is my favorite.

I'm not sure what you expected. When we found out Doma was the new city, and Rhalgr's Reach was inferred to be the new Idyllshire, it was clear "saving Ala Mhigo" would follow exactly (EXACTLY) the same formula as the Dragonsong War.

Retaking Ala Mhigo is the equivalent of "killing Nidhogg". First we'll do it in a dungeon, then the plot swings back to domestic affairs (Yuzuru), then we'll meander around for a bit doing odd jobs, all before patch 4.3-4.4 where it culminating in a fight against the Legatus dude. The remainder of the patches will cover cleaning up duty, and building towards a garlean invasion for 5.0.
