I think that 2000-2005 was the best. All the awesome new franchises from PS1 were still fresh and were getting truly realized on the PS2/XBOX and tons of great new franchises were coming out too.

Either way 1994-2007 was the best years in gaming.

I can emulate any game from the era at any time and I think that generally PS2-era titles are more enjoyable than SNES/Genesis to N64/PS1 titles, there are plenty of gems there for sure though.
