An unreleased Silent Hill compilation album by
Konami was supposedly leaked and dumped on infinitichan last night. Get it while it's hot.

sweet. Downloading now. I assume it's tracks from the games?

Here's to hoping for good recordings of SH1 tracks like Silent Hill and the FULL VERSION OF NOT TOMORROW.

Like shit, the most emotional track in the game and the "official" release skips out on it.
>>
>>380938524
Yeah, it covers 1 through 4, including Origins, Homecoming, and Shattered Memories. They're select tracks that I guess Akira Yamaoka deemed his best work? Or based on popularity?

Also, was this supposed to release in 2010 or 2017?
>>
>>380939137
It was definitely supposed to be released after 2010.

There is a section featuring 4 bonus tracks from Downpour, the Revelation movie, and Book of Memories.

All his works with Liz McGlynn I guess, lol.

A shame it doesn't include Not Tomorrow, but fan sites have long ripped all the music tracks. The version of Silent Hill still has the sound effects of Sheryl screaming from the FMV intro, though they removed the car crash sfx from the end... Maybe there's no "clean" mix of the track?

A nice compilation though.

Did they fucking lose the masters or what?
>>
>>380940229
It's an alright game. Better than four and most of the newer games, but not as good as the original trilogy. Level design is fucking excellent and the jumping between the normal and otherworld works well here, although the story is forgettable and combat is goofy as fuck. Fighting monsters with your bare fists is pretty damn stupid, as is carrying 20 portable televisions for projectile weapons.
>>
>>380944909
Origins is underrated.
>>
>>380944874
Seeing how well they took care of the master for their games, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm still mad that they fucked up SH:HD when they could have just hired Bluepoint.
>>
>>380945101
Absolutely. It doesn't quite meet the standard set by the better games but it does it's own thing fairly well and it's worth playing for fans looking for something different. Aside from the Japan only VN on the Game Boy Advance, it's probably the least talked about, and maybe the least known, game in the series. Well, that and Book of Memories but that game's a fucking disaster.
>>
I already have pretty much every Silent Hill soundtrack, but hell, maybe this one will have a song or two I don't have.
>>
>>380945101
Origins is the best Silent Hill not made by Team Silent
>>
>>380945139
I could never convince my friends to at least emulate the trilogy on PC. They all just played the "HD" versions of 2 and 3 on ps3.

Damn those fools.
>>
>>380945571
As somebody in the same boat, I didn't find any new songs, but a couple are in a marginally better bit rate (but it's all sub-320). Only saving grace all the ones marked '[x]'s Theme' actually have a proper title, like 'Soldier's Orders'.
>>
>>380944874
The mp3 files here are variable bit rate, so they are the same as 320kbps files, but smaller.
>>
>>380946341
That would be fine if the bit rate even went over 200 by my player's measure now and then.
Nigga I listen to lossless, even 320 is usually a compromise for me.

Haven't you heard about the devastating effects of rotational velocidensity? Rotational velocidensity affects all audio files encoded with lossy compression. These include mp3, aac, and ogg.

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions in the music community regarding the differences between 320kbps mp3 and FLAC format. It is true that 320kbps is technically as good as FLAC, but there are other reasons to get music in a lossless format.

Hearing the difference now isn’t the reason to encode to FLAC. FLAC uses lossless compression, while MP3 is ‘lossy’. What this means is that for each year the MP3 sits on your hard drive, it will lose roughly 12kbps, assuming you have SATA – it’s about 15kbps on IDE, but only 7kbps on SCSI, due to rotational velocidensity. You don’t want to know how much worse it is on CD-ROM or other optical media.

I started collecting MP3s in about 2001, and if I try to play any of the tracks I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320kbps, they just sound like crap. The bass is terrible, the midrange…well don’t get me started. Some of those albums have degraded down to 32 or even 16kbps. FLAC rips from the same period still sound great, even if they weren’t stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to FLAC, you may not be able to hear the difference now, but in a year or two, you’ll be glad you did.

Yeah, unfortunately the port isn't great. Thankfully I didn't have too many problems but for some it can be aggressive. There's some fixes floating around that can help. My only advice is keep trying to progress despite the game fighting back. It's like a wild animal. If you're like me, an hour in you'll want to quit because it feels unplayable. Then you get a better grip, keep going and eventually you fall into the groove and see it through.
I really do love the game despite its severe problems.
>>
>>380954604
Alright, I'm a really big fan of David Lynch and I've heard that it's similar in tone. I'll install that shit tonight and play it. If you or anyone reading this played Siren? Agreed, most people who hate it are upset about the changes to the lore. In terms of level design its fantastic, with areas like the theater standing out.

I've heard the complaints about the breakable weapons and how the world hopping ruined the atmosphere, but I just don't see the weight behind them.

Yee I agree, the overall art design/aesthetic feels creepier which kinda sucks cause the second games gameplay feels real good and makes it hard for me to go back to the first one
