I actually prefer if am still (or feel like i am) in control when it happens (like half life scripted scenes)

In engine, what kind of fucking question is that?
All pre-rendered cutscenes do is increase filesize and fill the game with a bunch of cutscenes that look like shit most of the time.

Why are the Brood War and Diablo 2 cuscenes still the best Blizzard cutscenes?

Everything outside of the WoW intro things feels so emotionless and hollow. There's no gravity to them.
