No, there were entire articles written about the mess that was Crysis 2.
In short Crysis came out same year as Cod Modern Warfare, and while 3mln sold units would have seen like an amazing success before but after mw 1 sold 7mln units, and then mw2 sold 5mln units in only 1 day the 3mln didnt impress Crytek ceo anymore.
It was the Yerli brothers, the owners of Crytek idea that Crysis 2 be made into a Cod competition and that they will sell 15mln copies or more now that a new era of fps games came.
Obviously they were fucking retarded, there was no new era, there was one or two best selling titles a year since the industry started.
This one isnt on EA.
