It's only "casualized" in the sense you can break throws with both 1 or 2 now, you don't need to know if it's a left throw or right throw. Command grabs still take 1+2 though so you can't just mash 1 and 2 and have it work every time.

I'm at 84 hours, I can do it but man my thumb gets tired doing it. So I just do it with sidedashing combined and it won't bother me so much. I use the analog stick on a pad.

Just poke them and do mixups, alternatively try to make them whiff with a backdash/sidestep so you can get off a launcher even if they do a safe move.
Grabs are also good, but try to go for the character specific ones instead of the standard ones that everyone has because those are to easy to throw break.

Stick noob here, any tips for a person who just started using sticks??

It feels like relearning how to drive/ride bicycle all over again. Once you're used to it, when driving/riding bicycles you can almost "feel" the road on the wheel as extensions of your limbs. Controlling characters on stick feels more like riding a wild animal, I can't even reliably hit df input to launch, yet alone backdash, dash and sidestep on a whim

Is it just sheer muscle memory? Is it just time to give up on stick, am I too old to learn? I'm 22 btw

This sounds like the average dumbfuck who hasn't even broke Silver. Learning a new character in SFV can be done by seeing which normals and special are plus on block, then spamming blockstrings on eachother until you get an opening and the same ONE bnb combo.

SFV is just as turnbased as Namco x Capcom and hitboxes literally don't matter. The only thin that matters about a move is if it moves you forward, can it be cancelled, and is it plus. Every character has one battle plan so if you fight the same character about 5 times online, you already know how the next few are going to play.

tl;dr Anyone who says SFV is deep doesn't know the game, and the game is so shitty it makes 3S look good and filled with variety.
