>buying strategy guides for ps2 games
did you not have internet at that point, poorfag?
>>380893615
I was young and stupid. I didn't need help, but I was obsessed. Needed shit to read when I got dragged away from my screens.
yup.
>>380892939
>Admit it
With pride
to this day I've only ever owned one strategy guide, the Halo 2 one and it's still sealed
The only strategy guide I've ever owned was for Super Paper Mario. Good game.
>>380892939
I never took my guides but i would bring my gameboy everyday
Bitch, I bought a strategy guide for MGS2 before I even had a PS2 so I could enjoy the game vicariously.
Get on my level.
>>380893615
>being so young that you always had the internet.
>>380893615
>Haha look at this guy his parents didn't have money
>>380892939
Yeah my man, would bring the Oblivion guide book everywhere and read that shit, comfy ass book and havin fun coming up with different classes and playstyles to do.
>>380892939
Nope. The school I went to banned that shit. It was a Lutheran school too. No recess. 10 minute lunch break. Anything not on the curriculum was confiscated and never returned on site. For example they confiscated my Bible when I started reading it after finishing the tasks earlier than the other kids.

>10 minute lunch break
>Confiscatijg stuff and not returning it
That should be illegal
>>380895192
>confiscated your bible
"You'll learn about Jesus on OUR terms, bitch"
>>380892939
>reading the game manual in school in hopes someone would recognize the game and talk to me
Why didn't someone stop me
>>380893615
You're obviously young.
.com bubble happened during 1995-2001
ps2 came out in 2000. No way there was useful information compared to strategy guides at the time. Most of the game advertisements came in magazines still as well
>>380896865
gamefaqs was already getting popular at that point, dumb nigger. stop pretending you are some old faggot that was alive back then
>>380896865
And "Greatest Hits" was actually a useful indicator of whether a game was worth buying or not.
>>380895192
>10 min lunch
fuck that reminds me of highschool. had to wait so long in lines to get our food that by the time we sat down we had 5 minutes to eat and be back in class.
>>380893615
I had dial-up until 2006. My only options to use broadband were my (well-off) friend's house or the internet cafe across the street from my high school.
>>380896865
Gamefaqs has been around since 95.
Although its hard to get access to it at home since dialup was what most people had up into the early 2000s
>>380892939
nope
i had a txt from gamefaqs
I mostly brought them to read up on the enemies since back then guides still threw in some lore or backstory for enemies. After that I just started bringing Monster Manuals to school.
Not really, at the time there were barely any magazine related for games in my country.
Oldfag here. When I was a child I wore my powerglove to school. It was a pain in the ass with the cord dragging around.
>>380892939
Damn skippy, did it for pokemon, super mario 64, and SMRPG. Oh, Sonic 3&Knuckles, and more.
i brought in the smash bros melee manual
>>380892939
I barely had money for snack lmao
>>380899414
Why didn't you wrap it around your arm? That's what I did.
>>380894727
I'm 25 and have had the internet my entire life.
