Nah, in most series it's obvious which game is objectively the best and the worst. In Nintendo series the quality of the games is consistently high so the first game you played in a series has a nostalgia bonus which is true in series like Mario, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Kirby, Pokemon, Zelda, Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi and Smash.

In some of those series the formula also barely changes so the first game in a series naturally has the biggest impact.

The items are great because if you're a good enough driver you can avoid them. Even ones like the wasp swarm which it the game's blue shell. This in turn makes deploying items much more skill based as well. Because if you wait until the person in first place is going through a narrow park of a track to use the wasp swarm even a good player will find it difficult to dodge.

Sony fans always overrate their inferior garbage ripoff clone games. CTR is the most overrated shitty kart racing MK clone in existence. It's literally a carbon copy of Mario Kart 64, the worst Mario Kart. At the time Sony fans claimed CTR was the superior game but it was a shameless ripoff of a shitty game. And they still hold it high on a pedestal because they've never played any of the subsequent Mario Kart sequels and therefore don't have a garbage first party Sony equivalent. Wipeout is another shitty series that in objectively inferior to F-Zero in every possibly way even though it has more titles in its series.
