It's a Galactic Federation soldier who was chosen at random to do experiments on.

The GF were trying desperately to replicate Samus' power suit so they could mass produce them and throw Samus to the curb. During one of the tests attempting to replicate her ability to phase her suit on and off at will, the test subject, Sylux, painfully and forcfully has his soul binded to the suit with his physical body disappearing forever.

He now lives a life of never needing to sleep, eat, drink, etc. He's essencially an empty suit. His life is ruined.

Of course because of this he has a huge vendetta against then GF and Samus, who he assumes knew about the experiments and allowed them to occur.

Thoughts? We already know how shady the gf is. Especially when it comes to Samus and the metroids

I think it's going to be a super soldier gone wrong situation.
Someone who was raised from birth to be who Samus ended up being. The best soldier in the galaxy given the best tech the federation could muster. In the end though, Samus showed up so the Federation tossed him aside. He lost all meaning in his life from that so decided to get back at both of them.

I kind of hope we'll get a Taro style ending A / B / C kind of thing. First playthrough is Samus. Second is Sylux following Samus but a bit of the fat is trimmed from the playthrough and enemies are all harder, with some new areas to explore as well. Third is Samus after the first two parts.

Kanden's was the fastest behind the Morph Ball. Plus his stingers would home in on grounded targets, making chasing him a horrible idea. He couldn't OHKO you like Sylux, but he was smaller and more nimble.

Plus, him and Sylux were the only ones capable of doing alt-form jumps to get to high places that shouldn't have been accessible. Spire and Weavel could also sort of do so, but only if there was a climbable wall nearby.
