I'm trying to put together a decent workflow for level design.
Though mostly I'm just fucking about accomplishing a whole bunch of nothing.
Any /3/ anons know how much trouble I'll be in if I use a bunch of floating geometry?

Moving it down still makes it take up the same amount of space on the screen, i'm gonna need to adjust the camera to be lower now that the hud at the bottom has become less tall anyway, and both the hud and dialogue box were designed with their positions in mind.
Sorry if that sounds like ignoring the comment, I appreciate critiques but this is one i can't honestly put into practice. If you think the text box should be more transparent, there's something I can do, at the very least.

Maybe for action segments the text box can be half the height and have larger fonts, since people wouldn't want to read all that text while they are doing stuff. For cutscenes and other stuff, this text box can be used then

Finding the right font is still an issue, i agree this isn't very legible while also trying to play, but i'm hoping to use the dialogue sparingly during low-tension sections, or while entering secret areas, like revenge of meta knight being about the best example i can think of. It's mostly up to me to just make sure text isn't in the way of the game, so I'll try my best with that.

Speaking of which, if anyone knows a good font i'm all ears. Or a general style to base an original font off of works too.

Thanks anon, that means a lot. Technically that was a separate game though, I only got an artist interested in about the last week of production so I finished it up and started work on the sequel shortly thereafter.
