The way the story was presented was a hot fucking mess and all of the main characters were boring as shit

the guy responsible for Suikoden II being such a good game left afterwards

without the writing, there wont ever be another game in the series comparable

replaying II on my phone. Trying to use shit characters, thinking Gabocha, Hoi (that fat dude pretending to be you), maybe the Chef. Really good game. Simple map, and most dungeons carry you through from town to town. Surprising how jam packed with story events and recruitables that small map is.

I has great tunes, but isn't a great game. III paces and controls like dogshit but I like the characters. Never touched IV. V was paced tgoo top heavy for me and I never got to the castle. Really miss it, really tight series but I guess it can just stay as it is as a testament to that time in gaming..
