I thought Angel Island was a slog and Hydropolis was terrible and then I dropped 3 sometime there after I had already beaten 1 and 2, went on to beat and love CD later.
Knuckles and Tails are literally just easy mode versions of Sonic so I wasn't jazzed about the idea of having to play him in &Knuckles.
