I thought it was thematic in the sense that the character is a doctor who messes with DNA and clearly fucked it up. But I was always a fan of N.Gin's design in Crash Bandicoot and when I saw her I instantly thought of that. It's obviously overly complicated in comparison but it's the same kind of thing and I liked it for that reason.
