Ruin II is good for kiting. I don't know if you play PvP or Potd at all, but when a bunch of things are rushing at you (from all sides) you don't want to be locked in place. Also, you can combo Broil and Ruin II.

As a tank main even I agree, tanking in ffxiv is a lot easier than tanking in just about every other MMO I've played, not saying I don't have fun, but it's a lot simpler in comparison. Still, even with how easy it is I run into plenty of tanks who fail at basic things.

To add it's really not tanking skill that's what a lot of people lack, it's general awareness.
