Starting with Untold 1 is fine, and story mode is perfectly acceptable. Some people recommend starting with 4 but personally I find the structure of having an overworld with smaller dungeons less compelling.

Just to put this out there: I do believe this game runs better on a new 3ds, and I've heard it's not that good on an old 3ds performance wise

Just be mindful if you never played a zelda, zelda games aren't action or rpg games, you'll spend 99% of your time figuring out obnoxious puzzles and 1% fighting easy enemies and bosses.

At this point I just hope to get my hands on a 3DS I can pirate to play some emulators in it and about the 4 games that seem to be good on that platform. Guess asking its catalog to be as good as the NDS one is much to ask, even without the nostalgia goggles on.

Bravely Default is great, it takes a lot of gameplay/story elements from FF5 and has ease of access features like an adjustable encounter rate to to make normal JRPG grind bearable.
If you beat Bravely Default, Bravely Second is alright too

What are the chances there'll be an upgrade deal for the new 2DS?
All I have is an original 3DS and I want a bigger screen for samus returns.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is great. Pokemon and Kirby games are decent. I've had the most fun playing DS games like Castlevania since I skipped that system.
