This game was great fun, but does anyone else wish it just LOOKED better? When I was playing the game I never felt that sense of stumbling onto a new area and being blown away with how beautiful it was. I was never looking onto a vast vista and being "wow that is gorgeous". I kind of wish the game had the sense of wonder, instead the graphics are simply adequate. I understand graphics aren't everything, but it's not just the technology, it's also artstyle and presentation, the game just never really blew me away with its environments. But technology does play a part to; in a game this grand it would have been nice to be blown away sometimes with amazing visuals.
Nothing really matches that initial showing during E3, all those years back...

I dunno OP I got that feeling of it being damn gorgeous all the time.
But we all know you're starting a bait thread to have a giggle as you get into bed "oh sure showed those /v/ people hehehe."
>>380860213
It looks great, lol
i wish it was on ps4. the graphics feel outdated
>>380860757
That looks totally unexceptional.
>>380861109
keep in mind its at 720p and the photo button compresses the image to shit.
I wish it looked like the E3 trailer
The graphics are fine, doesn't look shit like Gamebryo/Creation engine.
>>380861109
for nintendo fanboys it's peak graphics
for the rest of the world it's meh
>>380861416
It fucking DOES you dunce.
>>380862227
For the rest of the world, it's a new milestone in game design. But keep crying.
>>380860213
Shitty bait. You could at least put some effort in.
>>380862985
No, it does not. It just doesn't look as good. I mean look at the goats and stuff in the first image, BotW doesn't match that style at all
>>380863307
Again, that just looks totally unexceptional. There is nothing about that image that impresses me. From both a technological and artistic standpoint it is totally flat.
Nintenbros always defend shitty graphics. BotW would be better with better graphics.
>>380863463
>BotW doesn't match that style at all
>>380863592
Sucks to be you. Go play a lesser game then.
>>380863614
Everything could be better with better graphics, Captain Obvious, that doesn't make what we got automatically bad
The game could've looked like Ocarina of Time for all i care
Another day, another '/v/ desperately tries to find a flaw with BotW' thread.
>>380860213
If you're on Switch, change your color settings.
I thought the game was plenty visually impressive though, just from the style, scale, and consistency. Looking out at the world from the bird divine beast was really cool.
>>380860213
I understand where youre coming from this Anon, i personally avoided any sort of spoilers that Botw could give me, especially the whole E3 where they played it.
There were several situations where i stumbled upon a sensation of wonder tho, one of my favorites was when i accidentally stumbled upon the Ice dragon in the mountain, that was majestic.
>>380864013
I don't know. Personally I think I've hit a point where diminishing returns has made me stop caring.
link was cute, that's all that matters
>>380863814
Sure thing, Nintenbro. I'll play a much greater open world game from 2 years beforehand.
>>380863106
This is why people hate fanboys. You are always so fucking stupid and blind to reality.
>>380863307
Is that the actual resolution? Looks rather terrible for a full priced game made in 2017.
>>380865182
Why you faggots have to be so cancerous on /v/?
Fuck off back to one of your containment boards.
>>380865683
>talking about characters isn't allowed
Do you also get mad about people talking about girls they like?
>>380865401
Top kek. Daily reminder that Witcher 3's devs are in awe of BotW.
Damien Monnier served as senior designer on The Witcher 3 at CD Projekt RED
>Breath of the Wild has managed to bring classic open world mechanics together while not relying on them to guide the player through its world. You go and explore it because you wonder what's out there, not because a loot icon tells you to.
>My expectations, and I mean for me as a Zelda fan, have changed for sure - they've raised the bar when it comes to world crafting and this sense of total immersion I get when I play it. While its world includes classic open-world activities, collectibles and loot-filled mobs, it definitely doesn't feel overloaded and allows the focus be on the exploration. You want to explore this land whether or not you are on a quest, or being tasked to collect/gather something. You know, If you were to remove all NPCs, quests and mobs, I would still take pleasure in exploring that beautiful world.
>>380860213
I do wish the textures didn't always look washed out and that there were more ruins to explore. It looks fine for the most part but it felt graphically dated before it even launched.
>meanwhile on ps4
I'm sure the game would've looked a little bit better had it been made from the ground up for Switch. As it stands, it's just a Wii U game with a slight performance enhancement.
>>380862227
These are ideal graphics. You may not like it but this is what peak art style looks like.
>>380866721
> medicore graphics are art style now
>>380866925
The game is running on hardware not much bigger than my fone. The graphics and art style have been universally praised. How much longer will you keep crying over BotW?
>>380865401
>>380865572
irony
>>380867420
>720p
>my phone has 4k screen, 1000x more possible uses, 729529293 more games via emulators, I don't have to pay to use my own wifi.
>>380867420
When will you realize not everyone is going to come to a consensus on everything and that you should learn to just relax?
>>380867784
nice blogpost, faggot
>>380863592
>and artistic standpoint it is totally flat
Well at least now we know you have shit taste.
>>380867903
fuck off back to redd*t if you want a hugbox, sweetie :)
>>380867784
This desperation.
>>380865683
Dude where the hell do you think we are?
>>380860213
Personally the game looks great to me.
I sometimes stop just looking at those gorgeous vistas.
It's not technically impressive but they made it work somehow.
