I got slayed for RDM because some traitor shot at me and I turned around and chased where he shot me. It was a fucking sewer so there's literally no chance it was anyone else. So I killed him and then I got slayed

You can't even do basic detective shit. Like people running from crime scenes or not being shot by a fellow traitor when he goes on a rampage. You will get slayed if you use process of elimination

Last year I racked up about 50 hours on DarkRP. I didn't really care about the RP part of it, but one of the jobs on the server I visited was DJ, and you could get a radio to play whatever sound you wanted off of Youtube. It was amazing. But then they removed it and I never played again.

Imo it's because the way the rules work remove the intensity of the game. I believe that the karma system should be fleshed out and remove the other rdm bullshit. IMO the fact that the innocents have to wait for the traitors to make the 1st move makes the game less interesting. RDMing is a problem, but it should be handled under the pretense that if you are correct and can back it up with any reason, it's not rdm

What's the IP?

I hosted the very first TTT server as it was being developed off of some fun in Zombie Master. It's nothing like it was now. But in reality this game mode was only ever going to be fun with friends. The garry's mod enhancements only made things a little cleaner but it can't deal with people who don't actually want to play the game mode.

Yea, the insane "etiquette" rules in every TTT server completely ruin the game what it was originally designed as. It destroys the human element and turns it into some kind of fucked up e-sport.

The karma system needs to be redesigned. It needs to have "First response" conditions as well as an exponential nature to it where if you keep being the instigator multiple times the punishment is much more severe.

Best TTT server was Alters Playground.

It was run by fags and furrys, but was pure vanilla, the fags and furry admins were actually really good, the maps were really good, and the community, as were the rules.

It was a fucking miracle how good it was considering the fag and furry admins. They were stern, stern but fair. Also no children on mics allowed. Server used to have a waiting time to join almost all hours of the day in its prime.

if you guys feel like you're really wanting to get into RP, HL2RP has some nice aspects to it. make sure you actually pick out a good server too, and not some ERP-fest where you can donate for moderator. try to go for one that doesn't run on Clockwork, but that's one of the most common systems for HL2RP so i wouldn't fully rule it out.

other than that, i don't know of any RP gamemodes that actually have any sort of effort or a 'serious' vibe put into them at all, darkrp is such a clusterfuck it really shouldn't have 'rp' in it's name at all, i don't think i've seen a single emote ever on any darkrp server

Punishing players for shooting the wrong guy is also a big issue.
