I'm not finished yet, but it's honestly one of my least favorite Tales games. The story is kind of interesting (I like all the subtle references to the other games), but the combat system is one of the worst, and the voice acting is unusually bad, even for a Tales game.
Zestiria was better imo.

I really don't like the combat system, mostly due to souls. If you run out of souls, you're pretty much fucked, since it's so hard to regenerate them. You can either slowly attack and hope that you stun the enemy, or try and block an attack. This rarely works, though, since the enemies generally attack the AI teammates, instead of the player. And even if it does work, the souls spawn away from you, instead of being directly inserted into your guage, meaning you have to stop attacking and go get them, and hope that one of your AI teammates doesn't pick them up first.
It's also probably the easiest Tales game. I can't usually play Tales games on hard, I have to play on normal, but I've had no problem playing Berseria on hard. All I have to do is check the enemies' weaknesses, set up my combo so that it does the most damage, and spam the same attacks over and over. It can sorta be fun if you're attacking several enemies at once, but if there is only one enemy, it's pretty boring.
