What would realistically be the components of the Ataribox? I think it would be:
Custom AMD 4c/8t cpu
GPU power around the performance of the Radeon 7970 or R9 280
10 GB of RAM (2GB reserved for system so 8 GB)
and a standard 7200RPM 1TB hard drive

But if it isn't close to that it won't matter all that much, looking at the success of the Switch, I think a clever strategy would be to run in their own arena and make quality exclusives, rather than trying to compete with current-gen consoles and PC. People already have all that shit, so nobody is gonna buy an Ataribox just to play the same shit again. Making a 720/900p cheap as fuck console that can run CoD and fifa with no frills is something NOBODY is tackling.

Atari 2600 is my soul. I've sold all of my old console stuff except for my large Atari collection - the games are just so much fun.

Warlords is huge fun with 4 players, best 2kb game ever made imo.

gravitar is hard-as-hell and a real challenge for any gamer- but it's always your fault if you die, never the "artificial difficulty"

Turmoil is one of the greatest games ever made - period. Incredible, simple gameplay, and a difficulty ramp-up that is perfect.

Then there are the sweat-inducing cartridges like Squeeze Box, Frostbite, Night driver, and fast food.

And, the friendship-ending multilayer masterpieces of surround, race, and FUCKING DODGE'EM

Not to mention all of the other amazing games like solar fox, thunderground, outlaw, and revenge of the beefsteak tomatoes.


Seriously, go pick up an old atari. All of the games are about a buck or less nowadays, and the accessories are cheap as well. Some of the most unique, challenging, and funest multiplayer games can be found on it
