Customized characters are for americans who are unable to play games without projecting themselves on the main character.

If you're going to make a silent protagonist without any personality at all, you may as well let me customise them.

Depends how good the character creation engine is. If it's easy to use, and I can produce a waifu character to my specifications I'd go with that. If it's a shit engine, or if it's too complicated to use, then I'd rather just go with the pre-mades.

Well done pre-made characters will always be better than any customized one.
That said, most developers make shit characters so a character creator is a welcome addition to a lot of games.

Depends on the game,in sandbox games customizable character are a must.

I prefer to have a premade character like in the Witcher, so I can feel like a part of the world instead of some random loli that was tasked with saving the world.

Also I love when new janitors come here and have a meltdown.
