When microtransactions and creating a closed online community in the control of the publisher instead of the player is more accepted these days as the norm, no wonder it is so prevalent in todays gaming.

Many games now don't make a game, they make a "platform" to get you into their game, and then they drip feed you "content" whether it be skins in "loot boxes" "chests" 'reward boxes". Every game is doing this now from Killing Floor 2 to Overwatch to COD. In GTA V Onlines case it is "buying money" to then buy in game assets for use in the online mode.

This all exists now because a new breed of millennial gamer pays for such things.

In the past having an item skin, a weapon skin, a costume, a hat, etc, was all free and par to the course of modding.

And even modding now will be expunged and be forced upon you with a fee.

I find it quite ironic that people review bomb and blame GTA V and Take Two. Every company is doing this now. They just got caught.

The base SP was fine and well made. It's just that we never got any expansions for it because it's easier to shit out a few cars or whatever for the online and sell shark cards.
