My exact experience with Ori. Doesn't help that I lost a save file with good progress and now I have to slog through it until I get there again.

Story/visuals look like something I would enjoy, trailer for 2 looks good too. The platforming is 90% of times infuriating.

Dragon Quest is legitimately one of the best JRPGs for people who otherwise don't give a shit about the genre. It skips out on the excessive focus on story that bloats and restricts everything else with nonsense and just focuses on exploration.
