Yeah, I regret it. The problem is, good practices and high level tactics is just so dull and turtle-y. It's so much just waiting for someone to make a move so you can take advantage of it because every move leaves you so open, and thus it becomes a massive test of patience.

I can see it being like Splatoon where they continuously add more content and by the end of the year it's a fuller game, but Splatoon also had a full single player so maybe the point is moot because Splatoon had more single player but less multiplayer on launch whereas ARMs is vice versa.

I do enjoy the world that they've created with this game though. Very interested to see what other DLC characters they will add.

It's easily one of the worst mainline Nintendo games since the Wii U's launch.

Not enough. The issue is that 90% of the time, pure evasion is the best and easiest thing to do. Evasion has no cost. Once the rushes come out, people will tend to block because it's easy, but chances are they haven't taken much if any arms damage up to this point so the rush won't break through. They're also unlikely to take any more arms damage after the rush has ended because they'll be back to dodging, so the 80-90% guard break you got on them means nothing. Evasion is just too strong a tactic. You lose nothing, because your punches are going to reach them either way. It's not like it leaves you in a bad offensive position.

I don't know what they could theoretically do to fix that, if they were so inclined. Seems beyond simple patching.

I got bored of this game during the 1hr demo thing.

It's the sort of shit you throw together in unity at a lan for a laugh and then get bored of in 20 minutes.

You say that the enemy loves to guard, but the explosive radius of the fire is quite enough to disable arms enough to get a solid punch in, in my opinion.

The only thing I'd worry about would be going up against a Minmin because she could reflect the arm and the explosion could cause you to take the heat instead.

The chainsaw in Bayo 2 trumps everything else and shot like the bow and the hammer aren't very good, although they're fun to use. It's still too early too really tell whethe that's actually an issue at high level play, but they could just increase landing lag and make it so the characters gets tired if they dodge too much. At the very least it would increase blocking and attempting to hit arms down as opposed to dodging forever and running out the clock. This game lacks the intuition I expect from Nintendo. They couldn't even get the fundamentals feeling right. It's like an actual fighting game instead of something people of all-ages can get into and enjoy. Character movement just feels shit. There's no oomph to the dash. It has the least fun jumping I've ever encountered in a Nintendo game. The arms are difficult to track with your eyes on the screen. It's just a mess.

This game is freaking awesome. Springman is my boy-- being able to dash in and parry one of their fists, then block and guard advance the other and rip their defenseless anus apart is an absolutely beautiful thing.

Whoever was talking about this game being too defensive is nuts-- There's a perfect balance between offense and defense due to how almost everything you do has an offensive and defensive aspect to it, and you're rewarded for going all in on risky maneuvers and predictive game play by generating rush meter faster. And if you screw up, you get hit once-- compare that to traditional fighters where you could eat a combo for half your health.

I do wish there was some more interesting single player stuff-- an actual story would be nice, but the core game play is 10/10, this is definitely the most engaging fighting game I've ever played.

I bought the limited edition of Central Fiction, and I'll be picking up Dragonball Fighter Z, and Monster Hunter World day 1.

Not really, PS3 ended production just a few months ago. They stopped reporting numbers on it when the PS4 launched three years ago.
