Really want to know? Popularity of genres of anime are pretty heavily locked to single generations. Your generation is starting to get older and less catered to.

Mahou shoujo is eternal. Things like Madoka are still relatively recent, and Sailor Moon is still a big thing in Japan.
Regardless, the question has to do with how there don't seem to have been any good magical girl games ever made, besides a few kusoge or doujin games based on shows. The general idea of "comfy school life, hide your identity, transform to fight evil" seems like it would translate over relatively well.

They could of made a great SRW like with Super Heroine Chronicles but fucked up by throwing in a bunch of shitty harem anime (like Infinite Shit)

Magical Girls are niche even in Japan. It's not a big surprise for it to not be super popular in the West either. Still, Magical Girls have a niche but dedicated fanbase that could be easily exploitable if pandered to properly.

Magical Chase is one of my favorite games in the entire Shmup genre and would be my absolute favorite PC Engine game if not for Dungeon Explorers 2
