January is a playable month in Persona.
In Golden you can play up to February I think? I never played it.

Persona 5 gameplay ends in christmas. So Haru starting a month earlier doesn't really do much for her when the game is a month shorter.

However, Persona 5 is twice as long a game I guess, and the latter months are longer than the earlier ones, so I guess you do spend a fair amount of time with her, even compared to characters you meet earlier on in Persona 4.

In the Japanese game industry, I guess somewhat related to Westerners and CGI, but in Japan they order the production of anime cutscenes way ahead of a game's development. So like there are some inconsistencies that made it to the final game because then it would have cost more money to order new cutscenes.

From the top: Lack of characterization in the intro outside of the four first thieves, Haru's final beta apathetic look wasn't updated, Makoto needs to be alive, no Akechi.

Haru's ex-fiance shows up near the end too in a cutscene likely because that was ordered way in advance of Confidants being fully written.

And there's no original cutscene for a game over in December if you kill Akechi, but never send the calling card, so even though Akechi died on that cruise to himself, he still shows up in a bad ending to murder you.

Dude plot consistencies lmao. The worst part is the in-game cutscenes look way better the the anime ones. And the game's cutscenes are still running on a game engine specifically made for the PS3 .

They could really fix up Akechi's plot by not making him murder Haru's father. This means erasing a few anime cutscenes. Will they do it? Depends on how much Japan loves Akechi, his reception in the West isn't so-hot.

Speaking of Mementos lines, some of Goro's lines in there are pretty abstract. All that effort for a ruse since he'll be gone after one dungeon. Props I guess? Should have kept him for Shido's final battle as an ally. It's sad they literally never reference Akechi ever again, look at the script if you don't believe me. He's only referenced after his final fight in your Confidant screen, that's it.
