Let me tell you my story of shoving weeb shit games forever until I laid my hands on that one just because I got interested since it was from the "good" FF games guy and Chrono Trigger; I seriously thought it was anime crap until I realized it was a proper RPG old school like, and then the first cinema got my interest, and how Kaim didn't die in the intro when a fucking meteorite the size of the battlefield anihilated everyone but him. Everyone's surprised by this and everyone wonders why, but Kaim, the MC, just walks away without a scratch silently.

Then, since he's tired, he goes to sleep in a tiny room, and the game prompts you to read one of the many short stories called "1000 years of Dreams".

The very first short story is called "Hannah's Departure" and explains beautifully what Kaim is and why he's like that, awhile playing the fuckinggodlikeawesome OST in the background.

I realized a tear ran down my cheek and I was finally a faggot. A game made me cry and it was alright. It was moving and beautiful, yet very sad.

It's a very good game and don't you ever think about shoving it just because it looks weebish. It's the tale of what makes a man a true man.

I respect Sakaguchi in a lot of ways. He's responsible for Final Fantasy 1 through 10-2 as being what they are and they are fantastic games.

As an aspiring game creator myself, I'd like to learn HOW he directed such talents who helped him create the games.

Like, he directed Nobuo Uematsu, a man who is the greatest music composer alive. What do you do? What do you say to a young Uematsu who is working under you to bring the best out of him, like the way Sakaguchi did? I really hold nothing but admiration and respect for Hironobu Sakaguchi.

Nomura is usually at it best when he bases his characters on something or someone, if he doesn't, his imagination runs way too wild. His PSP Dissidia adaptations of Amano's characters are probably the best designs of the franchise.

Oh my fuck please let it be the people who worked on the gameplay. While it was pretty basic, between the artstyle and writing the combat was the least offensive aspect of Bravely Default.

I'd be happy with a LO2. The first one had some problems but it was as classic of an RPG as you can find, minus the ring system. Even that could be overlooked or simply seen as a way to make the auto-attacks slightly less dull. The game's actual plot is fine though immortals are brushed off WAY too easily until later on. Thousand Years of Dreams is fantastic and an excellent way to build the character of a typically grumpy protagonist. The characters all look a little odd, with Kaim being extremely lanky looking, Jansen having a fuckhuge coat, Ming actually having titty veins, Mack and Cook being horrible shits I wish I could smother and so on. Sed's fucking great, though. Oh, Geldoblame or whatever looks awful and never stops looking awful.

Was the first one good overall? I remember combat being fun and memory segments being intresting but everything else wasn't as engaging.
I got to the end of the first dvd where you get to the spooky mansion but think there was an enemy that required some specific set of skills to kill him and I never bothered with grinding for them.
