Just bought a PS3 and turned it into a poverty-tier Linux PC. I used to be into the old Fire Emblem games on Gameboy, but haven't played any vidya since.
Help me build my library, /v/.

Are you saying you hacked your console?
Thats pretty racist and not cool bro
>>380791284
what can that console exactly run via Linux?
Would PS1 & n64 emus work?
>>380791284
>installing lincucks on a console that plays PS1, PS3 and PS2 (classics from the store) by default
Unless you can still play those natively, you are a grade A moron.

Anything off the Steam store that a comparably powerful PC can run, this can run.
Any Windows game a comparably powerful PC can run, this can run.
Any PS3, PS2 or PS1 game produced can also be ran. Swapping between OS's takes twenty seconds and a power cycle.

Interesting. Can it use the system's GPU?
I recall Cell's clock speed being kinda low?
GameFAQs-->PS3-->Board-->Search-->"recommend"
Persona 5, buy that first.

How? PC uses x86, PS3 uses CELL - based on power architecture.

>Can it use the system's GPU?
Short answer: no.
>>380794196
It doesn't, he has no idea what he is going on about

Theoretically, he could be using Wine for Linux to emulate a Microsoft environment. Turns out there are Linux distros specifically for use on old PS3's.

Why wouldnt you just put cfw on it instead of linux? and run emulators that way? Every Sony game from ps1-ps3. every nintendo game except n64 from nes-gba, and sega too.

Wine just translates system calls, it doesn't do CPU emulation.
OP should just go back to the PS3 OS and hack it.

That's not the issue. Xbox can run ReactOS just fine, although even it will have original windows refusing to run on it. But code for closed source software like that is recompiled in x86.
Of course, that's not the only limitation, even a hack for OSX to run on Gamecube/Wii was not complete, even though that has the same chip which isn't even cut done for the consoles.
